Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge July Security Patch Update (G930F/G935F S1APG3)

The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge international variant is getting another Android security patch update. This over-the-air OTA update will improved the device security and covers for the month of June.  Along with it is several bug fixes and system enhancements.

It is said to resolve occasional issues like the recorded video flickering problem during playback, unable to save files to the SD card, and the Power saving mode issue while using Google Now.  A small revamp to the icon location cycle while using Always On Display also receives some tweaks to improved screen clarity, according to the released notes.

  • The icon location cycle has been changed to improved screen clarity when AOD (Always On Display) is used.

Other Bug fixes: 
  •  An occasional cover recognition issue has been resolved.
  • An issue where initial video playback flickers after recording has been resolved.
  • An issue where Power saving mode could not be disabled whole Google Now is running has been resolved.
  • An occasional issue that prevented saving files to SD cards has been resolved.

How to update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge via Over-The-Air:


  • Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update. This is a must and very important part to get rid of some issues if ever the software update being interrupted due to a power failure.

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.
  2. If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install update.
  3. The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
  4. You’ve successfully updated your software.

How to Update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Thru Smart Switch?
