T-Mobile Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Receive June and July Security PatchUpdate (UVU3APG1)

T-Mobile Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have missed out the Android security update last month, but yet today the U.S. carrier has started deploying an OTA update for the said devices. Yes, this release is part of the monthly security fixes to which covers both June and July, according to T-Mobile. The update will not only enhanced the device security for this month but also aims to various system improvements. The update dubbed as build version MMB29M.G930TUVU3APG1 lands on galaxy S7, while the Galaxy S7 edge will get the build version MMB29M.G930TUVU3APG1.

How to update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge via Over-The-Air:


  • Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update. This is a must and very important part to get rid of some issues if ever the software update being interrupted due to a power failure.

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.
  2. If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install update.
  3. The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
  4. You’ve successfully updated your software.

How to Update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Thru Smart Switch?


The second method is a firmware update through Samsung Smart Switch for PC. You may head over to your  local Samsung support page from where you can download the Smart Switch from there, and install it in your PCs or Mac computer. Once you installed the Smart Switch, all you need is connect your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge into your PC using the USB data cable, then simply run and follow Smart Switch on-screen’s software update instruction.

For those who have a rooted Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, you folks might need to download the stock firmware itself – Galaxy S7 Firmware, as you may no longer get the Over The air update as long as your device has been rooted or modified .  This process will completely unroot and remove any modification in your Galaxy S7 and S7 edge phone and restores it back to its official or factory default firmware.
