Australia Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge August Security Patch Updates (U1BPHC)

The August security patch update has just started its rolling out to Australia's unlocked version of the Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F) and S7 Edge (SM-G935F). Just like any previous security maintenance release, it brings nothing more any new features and noticeable changes rather than the said security patches. This update came out as build version MMB29M.G930FXXU1BPHC for the Galaxy S7, while Galaxy S7 edge got the build version MMB29M.G935FXXU1BPHC. Those who owns the carrier branded Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge might also get similar update but might come with other build version.

The Over-The-Air OTA update weighs at around  60 MB in size. Those who did not received the update yet, you folks can get the update via Over-The-Air OTA update through Samsung Smart Switch for PC.

How to update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge via Over-The-Air:


Ensure your phone’s battery is fully charged before starting the software update.
  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.
  2. If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install update.
  3. The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
  4. You’ve successfully updated your software.

How to Update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Thru Smart Switch?


The second method is a firmware update through Samsung Smart Switch for PC. You may head over to your  local Samsung support page from where you can download the Smart Switch from there, and install it in your PCs or Mac computer. Once you installed the Smart Switch, all you need is connect your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge into your PC using the USB data cable, then simply run and follow Smart Switch on-screen’s software update instruction.
