T-Mobile Galaxy S7 and S7 edge getting September security updatesversion G930TUVU4APIA & G935TUVU4APIA

T-Mobile has just release the a software for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Both updates are still base in Android Marshmallow and it is not the much awaited Android Nougat update yet. These updates are still part of Google's Android security maintenance in monthly fashion, and this time it brings the September Android security patches. The Galaxy S7 receive the firmware build version to G930TUVU4APIA, while the Galaxy S7 edge will move to build version G935TUVU4APIA.

The update might also include some minor bug fixes and performance enhancements that hasn't been addressed in the initial changelog details. However, it does not bring some exciting new feature as it's only just a security patch update. It's something like it just takes good care of your personal data against the possibility of exploitation.

We've spotted these update hitting over the air (OTA), you may simply tap on your device settings, from Apps, look for the Settings gear icon and navigate to About Device and check if the update is ready for your device. You may also try to update your device using Samsung Smart Switch for PC if ever the OTA has gone too long for you to wait, or otherwise if the roll out hasn't yet available in your area.

How to update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge via Over-The-Air:

  • Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update. This is a must and very important part to get rid of some issues if ever the software update being interrupted due to a power failure.

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.
  2. If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install update.
  3. The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
  4. You’ve successfully updated your software.

How to Update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Thru Smart Switch?

The second method is a firmware update through Samsung Smart Switch for PC. You may head over to your  local Samsung support page from where you can download the Smart Switch from there, and install it in your PCs or Mac computer. Once you installed the Smart Switch, all you need is connect your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge into your PC using the USB data cable, then simply run and follow Smart Switch on-screen’s software update instruction.

For those who have a rooted Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, you folks might need to download the stock firmware itself – Galaxy S7 Firmware, Galaxy S7 edge stock firmware as your phone may no longer get the Over The air update as long as your device has been rooted or modified .  This process will completely unroot and remove any modification in your Galaxy S7 and S7 edge phone and restores it back to its official or factory default firmware.
