Sprint Galaxy S7 and S7 edge updates version G930PVPS4APJ2 & G935PVPS4APJ2

Sprint Galaxy S7 and S7 edge has gotten another Android security patch update. For this month update it brings the October Android Security packaged, to which will bump up the Galaxy S7 Android Marshmallow to build version G930PVPS4APJ2. While on the other hand, the Galaxy S7 edge also move to build version G935PVPS4APJ2. Aside from the said security updates, there are also some several system improvements, including bug fixes and device stability enhancements, according to the initial changelog given by Samsung. This update is just a minor update and there isn't no additional features nor adverse effect once the device receive the said update.

How to update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge via Over-The-Air:

  • Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update. This is a must and very important part to get rid of some issues if ever the software update being interrupted due to a power failure.

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.
  2. If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install update.
  3. The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
  4. You’ve successfully updated your software.

How to Update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Thru Smart Switch?


The second method is a firmware update through Samsung Smart Switch for PC. You may head over to your  local Samsung support page from where you can download the Smart Switch from there, and install it in your PCs or Mac computer. Once you installed the Smart Switch, all you need is connect your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge into your PC using the USB data cable, then simply run and follow Smart Switch on-screen’s software update instruction.
