AT&T Galaxy S7 Active Android 7.0 Nougat Updates version G891AUCU2BQB2 Rolling Out

If you owned the rugged version of the Samsung Galaxy S7 which is only the AT&T Galaxy S7 Active (SM-G891A), you folks will also start to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat updates.  Earlier today, AT&T has officially announced the deployment of the said Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade for your devices. While AT&T have already sent out the Nougat updates for its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge devices last month, now its time for the Galaxy S7 Active owners as well.

Along with all the Android Nougat goodies it also includes the latest Android security patch update.  There were also new Samsung bloatware added, including the Samsung Cloud and Samsung Pass. While the AT&T Address Book app will be gone for good with this update.

The update will bump AT&T Galaxy S7 Active from its current Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS to Android 7.0 Nougat dubbed as build version G891AUCU2BQB2. The update is officially live via Over-The-Air and clocks in at 1.58GB in size. So if you have a AT&t galaxy S7 Active make sure to start firing up that update menu in your device settings.  But keep in mind that the update is likely a staged release, and it may take into several days to reach everyone's devices.

How to update AT&T Galaxy S7 Active to Android 7.0 Nougat via Over-The-Air:

  • Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update. This is a must and very important part to get rid of some issues if ever the software update being interrupted due to a power failure.
  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About device > Software updates > Check for Updates.
  2. If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install update.
  3. The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
  4. You’ve successfully updated your Galaxy S7 Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
