Verizon Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge Receives Wi-Fi Connectivity Fixes on Android 7.0 Nougat Updates

Verizon Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge recently received its Android 7.0 Nougat updates. But for some reasons the Nougat updates have been found some minor glitches, and this is all about the Wi-Fi connection issues.  So earlier today, Verizon has just pushed another round of Android Nougat updates that primarily boost both devices Wi-Fi connectivity.

What are the benefits with the update:

This software update improves Wi-Fi connectivity on Android 7.0 Nougat OS, and other improvements including:
  • Battery management improvements
  • Samsung Pass
  • New and improved virtual keyboard

Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935V)
  • Android version: 7.0 (Nougat)
  • Android security patch level: February 1, 2017

  • Kernel version: 3.18.31
  • Build number: NRD90M.G935VVRU4BQA4

The only changes you'll notice in the details is the baseband version and the build number, while the Android security patch level has stayed in February 1, 2017.  So this update was developed subsequent to the earlier Nougat , just to resolved the found problems.

How to update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge via Over-The-Air:


Before you download:
  • Connect your device to a Wi-Fi network first, or make sure it has a strong Wireless network connection.  This approach requires you to prepare a strong WiFi connection,  and so it might happen sometimes that one did not receive any software update notification messages; (1) If and when the device is out of range during the software update roll out  period, (2) Automatic update has been turned off in the device Settings.
  • Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update. This is a must and very important part to get rid of some issues if ever the software update being interrupted due to a power failure.

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.
  2. If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install update.
  3. The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
  4. You’ve successfully updated your software.
