Stock firmware can only be use to restore the Galaxy S7 EDGE SM-G935V to its original Android OS state. It can be use only if and when the device has been modified in unauthorized way and no longer receives an OTA updates. It can unroot and fully restore it back to factory default settings.

Stock firmware were also a handy tool to fix if one have messed-up and ended up the device into a soft-bricked state, such as bootloop (the phone keeps on restarting all over and over again), or the phone just stuck in a Samsung logo splash screen.

Odin3 Flashing Procedures:

  • Recharge the phone or it should have at-least 50% remaining power.
  • Backup all important data stored in the phone's memory, such as contact, messages, music, videos, pictures, documents, and more.
  • Grab these tools:
    Odin3 Multi-flasher
    - Samsung smartphones USB driver.
  1. Extract the firmware package.
  2. Extract and run Odin3 multi-flasher .
  3. Reboot the phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
  4. Connect the phone to PC and wait until the recognized the phone
  5. Load the firmware file:
    - Single file - load in the AP button
    - Multiple packed  - load each file in Odin3's designated slots, such as AP, BL, CP, and CSC button
  6. Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked.
  7. Click the Start button, wait for a couple minutes until the installation finishes.
You may also perform the factory data reset to obtain a fresher and cleaner firmware installation. Doing so after every new update is installed may avoid or get rid of any lag issues.
