October 2017 Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Updates aka The Blueborne Fix

Since we haven't seen massive updates on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge last month. It was supposed to be the released of the September 2017 security updates, but for unknown reasons there was only few devices receives the said monthly security patches.  But here goes the end of October, and hopefully we have seen that each devices got an update treatments.

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge October security updates hasn't came alone. The update is also accompanied with Bluetooth vulnerability security patches dubbed as the "BlueBorne" fix.

The Blueborne were recently published by Armis Labs. and it defines how vulnerable and allows attackers to take control of devices via Bluetooth connection.
BlueBorne is an attack vector by which hackers can leverage Bluetooth connections to penetrate and take complete control over targeted devices. BlueBorne affects ordinary computers, mobile phones, and the expanding realm of IoT devices.

Here comes the updates of each devices, just make sure you may have one of these updates to ensure that your precious data stored in your device would not  get compromise by attackers. However, if you won't take the update, then you may not use the Bluetooth at all.  But, if you are an avid user of that Bluetooth feature in your devices, then you should considerably update it right now.


Android Security Updates includes May 1 2017 Hitting AT&T Galaxy S7, S7edge, and S7 Active

Just a heads-up for AT&T Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, and the Galaxy S7 active users.  AT&T has just rolled out a new update containing the May 1,  2017 Android security patch level.  These release are now the 4th Android 7.0 Nougat updates hitting on AT&T's S7, S7 edge and S7 active alone. All of these were only a minor OTA updates that clocks at 40 MB in file size for each mentioned devices.

AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 edge April 2017 Security Patch Updates (G930AUCU4BQD4 - G935AUCU4BQD4)

AT&T is sending an update on Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G90A) and Galaxy S7 edge (SM-G935A) that brings the April 1, 2017 Android security patch level. The update also includes several fixes, such as Advanced Messaging, AT&T Messages Backup & Sync, Wi-Fi calling. While it also serve an additional improvements to Video Calling  and other various fixes and improvements to system related stuff.

The AT&T Galaxy S7  has bumped-up its current Android 7.0 Nougat OS to version G930AUCU4BQD4 from previous version G930AUCS4BQC2. While the Galaxy S7 edge also moved to version G935AUCU4BQD4 from G930AUCS4BQC2.

While AT&T has unleashed the Android 7.0 Nougat updates Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge last month. But then again another month passes by, and so does the Android security patch updates that came along once in every month is once again again hitting the said devices. Earlier, we posted about AT&T Galaxy S7 March 2017 Security updates, and so does the Galaxy S7 edge (SM-G935A) came out also.

The AT&T Galaxy S7 edge received the second round of Android Android 7.0 Nougat OS to version G935AUCS4BQC2 from its previous version G935AUCU4BQA6. The update now includes the March 1, 2017 Android security patch level.

AT&T Galaxy S7 edge Official Nougat Update to version G935AUCU4BQA6 Rolling Out

While T-Mobile Galaxy S7 and S7 edge already received the Nougat AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Android 7.0 Nougat update is finally here! The galaxy S7 edge has began receiving the said Nougat update which is dubbed as build version G935AUCU4BQA6. While the Galaxy S7 also comes as build version G930AUCU4BQA6.

While the rest of US carriers might also respond soon.

The Android 7.0 Nougat update brings a lot of new features and changes. It also includes the most recent Android security patch dated as February 1, 2017.

AT&T Galaxy S7 Edge Official Nougat Updates to version G935AUCU4BQA4 Ready for Release

If it happens that you have a AT&T's Galaxy S7 edge and have been eagerly awaiting for the official Nougat update to come out, then worry no more. The much awaited Android Nougat updates has been around at AT&T's public server for a quite some time now and are about to roll out any time soon. But the very exact date to when it goes live is still uncertain.

The said Nougat update dubbed as build version G935AUCU4BQA4 has been around the corner, since Samsung have already been finalized and ended-up its Galaxy beta program on December 30th 2016. Noting that only AT&T among all of  the major carrier provider in the United States did not joined the said Nougat beta event.

AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are getting an OTA update that has just bumped up the device Android Security patch level to November 1, 2016. The update will now move the AT&T's Galaxy S7 to version G930AUCS4APK1 while the Galaxy S7 edge to version G935AUCS4APK1. It's basically a minor OTA update considering it file size for just around 50 MB, so we cannot expect anything new about it. The update is still base in Android 6.0.1 Mars-mallow OS, and it's not the Android Nougat update yet so far.

Furthermore,the Android Nougat beta is already hitting the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge in the US. But noting that AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 edge has not participated the said Android beta program event for some other circumstances, so we cannot speculate more about AT&T's movements.

AT&T Galaxy S7 & S7 edge Updates version G930AUCS4APJ4 & G935AUCS4APJ4

AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge has yet received another round of OTA update that brings the October Android security patches. The update came out as build version G930AUCS4APJ4 for the Galaxy S7 and build version G935AUCS4APJ4 for the Galaxy S7 edge.

The update isn't just packed with Android SPL but rather there are also some few adjustments is going on. There is a new added feature such as the Full Screen Mobile Video Service, the volume improvements to Enhanced Push to Talk, and a fix for Voice Mail when it fails calling over non-LTE devices. And lastly, the removal of the Milk Music application.

This update is hitting Over-The-Air OTA and weighs at around 260 MB in file size. This version will replace the previous month released build version UCS4API2.

AT&T Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, and S7 Active Update version - G930AUCS4API2 & G935AUCS4API2

AT&T is rolling out the September Security Patch update for Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, and S7 edge Active. AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge August Security Patch Update (UCS2APH1)

AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 edge is getting an OTA update that brings up the August Security Patches. Yeah, that's according to AT&T's announcements about the changelog details that says Android device security enhancements. Nonetheless, it seems just a minor update but it carries around 56 Google and 8 Samsung patches in order to improve our customer’s confidence on security of Samsung Mobile devices, according to Android Security bulletin. AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Gets Wi-Fi Calling, Advance Messaging Update (UCU2APG1)

The Wi-Fi calling support for AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is finally here. In addition to Wi-Fi calling, the update also includes the AT&T Advance Messaging to which brings the Internet Protocol Message Enabled (IPME), and the Messages Backup & Sync feature. The update also carries the Android security patch containing the month of July patches. The update will bump up the Galaxy S7 Android OS to build version number MMB29M.G930AUCU2APG1, whilst the Galaxy S7 edge will move to build version MMB29M.G935AUCU2APG1.

AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Receives an Updates to Improved Home and Volume Keys

AT&T is has released a new update for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge owners earlier today. The update is said to bring the new DTV widget added to the home screen, an improved home and volume key responsiveness, improved Wi-Fi performance using BTLE. It is also brings the April’s security patch to which is a part of the monthly update that fixes Android vulnerabilities.

The update has been released by the said carrier via Over-The-Air (OTA) that weighs in between 131-190MB in size. The Galaxy S7 will receive the version number MMB29M.G930AUCU2APD1, while the Galaxy S7 edge owners will get the MMB29M.G935AUCU2APD1.
