Android Security Updates includes May 1 2017 Hitting AT&T Galaxy S7, S7edge, and S7 Active

Just a heads-up for AT&T Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, and the Galaxy S7 active users.  AT&T has just rolled out a new update containing the May 1,  2017 Android security patch level.  These release are now the 4th Android 7.0 Nougat updates hitting on AT&T's S7, S7 edge and S7 active alone. All of these were only a minor OTA updates that clocks at 40 MB in file size for each mentioned devices.

AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 edge April 2017 Security Patch Updates (G930AUCU4BQD4 - G935AUCU4BQD4)

AT&T is sending an update on Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G90A) and Galaxy S7 edge (SM-G935A) that brings the April 1, 2017 Android security patch level. The update also includes several fixes, such as Advanced Messaging, AT&T Messages Backup & Sync, Wi-Fi calling. While it also serve an additional improvements to Video Calling  and other various fixes and improvements to system related stuff.

The AT&T Galaxy S7  has bumped-up its current Android 7.0 Nougat OS to version G930AUCU4BQD4 from previous version G930AUCS4BQC2. While the Galaxy S7 edge also moved to version G935AUCU4BQD4 from G930AUCS4BQC2.

April 2017 Security Updates Hitting on Sprint Galaxy S7 and S7 edge -G930PVPU4BQD2/G935PVPU4BQD2

Yet another month has passed and so does another monthly Android security patch updates coming Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.  This time around, it is Sprint pushing the April 1, 2017 Android security patch level on its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Sprint Galaxy S7 (SM-G930P) will now move its current Android 7.0 Nougat OS to version G930PVPU4BQD2 from G930PVPS4BQC1. While the Galaxy S7 edge  (SM-G935P) will also bump to version G935PVPU4BQD2 from G935PVPS4BQC1.

US Unlocked Galaxy S7 Edge G935U Android 7.0 Nougat Update Rolling Out Now

When it comes to OTA updates the US factory unlocked Galaxy S7 G930U and S7 edge G935U are the ones that seems always left behind. If you owned one you may already noticed that you device are getting slower updates compared to the carrier variants.

Since the Android 7.0 Nougat update is already pushed to all carrier variants, Samsung has also started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 edge.  While the Galaxy S7 might also follow within this week.  Yet it may also getting a bit late but an update still an update and the long wait has finally over.

So if you owned the Galaxy S7 edge G935U, you may check the update via Over-The-Air, or look for the stock firmware and install it manually.  The update came out as build version G935UUEU4BQD2. It brings all the Android 7.0 Nougat goodies, and also the security patch level for April 2017.

Telstra and Optus Released the March 2017 Security Updates on Galaxy S7and S7 edge

It seems like Australian carriers  such as Telstra and  Optus are releasing the March 2017 Android security patch updates on Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Telstra has announced the  approval of the new updates and the rolling out begins on April 7. However, Optus and will also follow in mid-April hence the update has just recently approved and are now just awaiting for the deployment.

These security updates will not bring any significant changes to the recent Android 7.0 Nougat OS. But it also includes an  updates to select Samsung applications, while the rest are other global bug fixes, stability and performance improvements .

March 2017 Android Security Updates Hitting in Australia's Galaxy S7and S7 edge

The March 2017 Android security maintenance has just recently released on the unlocked version of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge in Australia.  Both device has bumped up its Android security patch level to March 1, 2017.

Along with the latest security patches it also includes other global bug fixes, stability and performance improvements.

The Galaxy S7 received an update to version G930FXXS1DQCE. While the Galaxy S7 edge also moved to version G935FXXS1DQCE. These updates are now the 3rd Android 7.0 Nougat released for the two phones.

The T-Mobile Galaxy S7 Android 7.0 Nougat update will now bump to build version  G930TUVS4BQC1 from the first released build G930TUVU4BQB1. This update brings the  March 1, 2017 security patches, but yet of-course it also includes various system improvements to enhanced the device performance and stability.

It's a minor OTA update as it seems bu it may have some additional bug-fixes for the device that might resolved some issues and problems found on the previous released.

Rogers and Telus Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Receiving Android 7.0 Nougat Updates

Following the roll out the official Android 7.0 Nougat updates Galaxy S7 and S7 edge in Canada earlier last week.  But the roll out only happened on Bell, Eastlink, and Free Mobile  customers. This time around Rogers, Telus, Fido,  Koodo  and among other carriers devices are also started getting the same treatment.

Similar to Bell's released, Roger and Telus Galaxy S7 G930W8 bumped to version GG930W8VLU2BQB6.  While the Galaxy S7 edge on the other hand, also received an update to version G935W8VLU2BQB6.

Canadian owners of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge has finally started receiving their Android 7.0 Nougat updates.  The said Nougat updates  is recently hitting Bell customers, while other major Canadian carriers will follow shortly in just a couple of days.  The Galaxy S7 received the firmware version G930W8VLU2BQB6. While the Galaxy S7 edge has also gotten the firmware version G935W8VLU2BQB6.

Galaxy S7 G930F & S7 edge G935F Android 7.0 Nougat February 2017 Security Patch Updates

Samsung has pushed the Android 7.0 Nougat updates on the international Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge earlier this year.  Each of these Nougat updates were also equipped with Android security patches that contains the month of January 2017 patches. Yet another month passes by, Samsung has just began sending out another round of Android 7.0 Nougat updates, but this time it contains the February 1, 2017  Android security patch level.

Along with the new Android security parch, it also includes general bug-fixes,  several system enhancements and improvements to the Android 7.0 Nougat.

If you owned the rugged version of the Samsung Galaxy S7 which is only the AT&T Galaxy S7 Active (SM-G891A), you folks will also start to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat updates.  Earlier today, AT&T has officially announced the deployment of the said Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade for your devices. While AT&T have already sent out the Nougat updates for its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge devices last month, now its time for the Galaxy S7 Active owners as well.

Along with all the Android Nougat goodies it also includes the latest Android security patch update.  There were also new Samsung bloatware added, including the Samsung Cloud and Samsung Pass. While the AT&T Address Book app will be gone for good with this update.

The update will bump AT&T Galaxy S7 Active from its current Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS to Android 7.0 Nougat dubbed as build version G891AUCU2BQB2. The update is officially live via Over-The-Air and clocks in at 1.58GB in size. So if you have a AT&t galaxy S7 Active make sure to start firing up that update menu in your device settings.  But keep in mind that the update is likely a staged release, and it may take into several days to reach everyone's devices.

Verizon Galaxy S7 edge Official Android 7.0 Nougat Update version G935VVRU4BQA2

It's about time for Verizon Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners to get a doze of Android 7.0 Nougat treatment.  Few weeks earlier we've seen  AT&T,  T-Mobile, and Sprint pushing the official the Android  7.0 Nougat updates on their Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.  Though we've though Verizon variants  might take some further delays since they've dropped its participation in the Android Galaxy beta program way back in December. The awaited Nougat update has finally arrive on T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The Galaxy S7 edge first official  Android 7.0 Nougat firmware came out as  build version  G935TUVU4BQB1, while the Galaxy S7 also bumped to version G935TUVU4BQB1.

Though T-Mobile has already made an announcements that the roll out will start on  on February 20, 2017, but many Galaxy S7 and S7 edger owners has started receiving the said Nougat update as earlier to the given scheduled release date.

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Nougat update has finally rolling out. The first official  Android 7.0 Nougat firmware dubbed as build version  G930TUVU4BQB1 has started hitting today.

As per T-Mobile announcements, both Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Nougat updates will going to start on February 20, 2017, but the release was unexpectedly came earlier as we thought.

An official Android 7.0 Nougat dubbed as build version G930FXXU1DQB3  is recently released on Galaxy S7 in UK.  This is the second Nougat update we've seen landed on Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930F and the Galaxy S7 edge SM-G935F, while other Galaxy S7 and S7 edge models particularly in the United States haven't started to roll out yet.

Though both countries took part of the Galaxy Beta program, of which some select Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners has joined the Nougat beta testing way back in December.  But one thing for sure the said Nougat updates is already here and only time can tell to when that massive roll out begins.
