October 2017 Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Updates aka The Blueborne Fix

Since we haven't seen massive updates on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge last month. It was supposed to be the released of the September 2017 security updates, but for unknown reasons there was only few devices receives the said monthly security patches.  But here goes the end of October, and hopefully we have seen that each devices got an update treatments.

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge October security updates hasn't came alone. The update is also accompanied with Bluetooth vulnerability security patches dubbed as the "BlueBorne" fix.

The Blueborne were recently published by Armis Labs. and it defines how vulnerable and allows attackers to take control of devices via Bluetooth connection.
BlueBorne is an attack vector by which hackers can leverage Bluetooth connections to penetrate and take complete control over targeted devices. BlueBorne affects ordinary computers, mobile phones, and the expanding realm of IoT devices.

Here comes the updates of each devices, just make sure you may have one of these updates to ensure that your precious data stored in your device would not  get compromise by attackers. However, if you won't take the update, then you may not use the Bluetooth at all.  But, if you are an avid user of that Bluetooth feature in your devices, then you should considerably update it right now.


Galaxy S7 May 2017 Android Security Updates 5/1/2017-5/31/2017

The Samsung Galaxy S7 has received the monthly Android security updates. This time, we are going to tackle an update that contains the May 1, 2017 Android Security Patch Level.

T-Mobile Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Receiving May Security Updates

New software updates hitting on T-Mobile Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. These updates is said to bring the April and May Android Security patches. The Galaxy S7 current Android 7.0 Nougat has bumped-up to version G930TTMB4BQE1 from G930TUVS4BQC1. While the Galaxy S7 edge on the other hand, has moved to version G935TTMB4BQE1 from G935TUVS4BQC1.
Both devices receives the May 1, 2017 Android security patch level. Since T-Mobile  missed-out the released of the April security patches, so this simply means that it's already covered in these updates.

Anyways, these is just a small updates that weights at around 47 MB in size.

The T-Mobile Galaxy S7 Android 7.0 Nougat update will now bump to build version  G930TUVS4BQC1 from the first released build G930TUVU4BQB1. This update brings the  March 1, 2017 security patches, but yet of-course it also includes various system improvements to enhanced the device performance and stability.

It's a minor OTA update as it seems bu it may have some additional bug-fixes for the device that might resolved some issues and problems found on the previous released.

Nougat Updates AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 edge to version G930AUCU4BQA6/G935AUCU4BQA6

AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 edge has finally gotten the Android 7.0. Nougat updates following T-Mobile's released yesterday.  While the rest of major US carriers such as Verizon and Sprint might also respond anytime soon.

For AT&T Galaxy S7 (SM-G930A) the Nougat update is dubbed as version G930AUCU4BQA6, whilst  the Galaxy S7 edge (SM-G935A) got the Nougat update version G935AUCU4BQA6. Each updates weighs at approximately 1.64GB in size.

In addition, we are also eyeing on AT&T's Galaxy S7 active (SM-G890A) if this device  might as well receive a Nougat treatment.

As per T-Mobile announcements, both Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Nougat updates will going to start on February 20, 2017, but the release was unexpectedly came earlier as we thought.

T-Mobile Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Updates version G930TUVU4APK1 & G935TUVU4APK1

T-Mobile has pushed the OTA updates on Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. The update brings the October and November security patches but it also includes some new goodies, bug fixes and system enhancements. The said update will enable the  256/64 QAM applications, fixes to unexpected system crash and freeze issues and improvements to domestic data roaming.

The update will bump the T-Mobile Galaxy S7 to build version G930TUVU4APK1, while the Galaxy S7 will move to build version G935TUVU4APK1. This will replace the previous release build version G930TUVU4APIA (S7) and G930TUVU4APIA (S7 edge).

T-Mobile has just release the a software for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Both updates are still base in Android Marshmallow and it is not the much awaited Android Nougat update yet. These updates are still part of Google's Android security maintenance in monthly fashion, and this time it brings the September Android security patches. The Galaxy S7 receive the firmware build version to G930TUVU4APIA, while the Galaxy S7 edge will move to build version G935TUVU4APIA.

The update might also include some minor bug fixes and performance enhancements that hasn't been addressed in the initial changelog details. However, it does not bring some exciting new feature as it's only just a security patch update. T-Mobile Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have missed out the Android security update last month, but yet today the U.S. carrier has started deploying an OTA update for the said devices. Yes, this release is part of the monthly security fixes to which covers both June and July, according to T-Mobile. The update will not only enhanced the device security for this month but also aims to various system improvements. T-Mobile is pushing out the security update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge line up. It rather be just a minor update and it has just started rolling out via over-the-air OTA. It is part of the monthly security patch update but it isn't the May's bug fixes as it was already came earlier  in the month. So definitely, this is a different fixes or whatsoever for the device.

T-Mobile is sending out an update to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge that fixes the misbehaving power and volume keys. The said update that was first announced a few days ago that will able to fix the volume buttons bugs. Few days back, some Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners apparently suffer from malfunctioning volume down and power buttons. It also has the May security patches, and one thing more the update will also enables the FM radio functionality of the phone.
